Eisenhower Public Library
Harwood Heights, Illinois
The new Eisenhower Public Library facility presented a unique challenge to the design team. The owner requested the new facility adhere to the strict requirements set forth by the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED program, provide provisions for a future second story expansion, as well as capture the aesthetic of neo-classic architecture. The resulting design incorporates unique solutions such as the abundant use of natural daylight and renewable energy, the use of non-hazardous finishes and the integration of local materials, and reduction in overall water consumption.
